X-MAS JAMBOREE @ the GRANGE – 12/23/2011
The 1st annual “X-Mas Jamboree @ the Grange” was a huge success……. and a blast!… Thank you to all who came out to enjoy the music. It was a packed house, and your support is greatly appreciated. Also, thank you to all of the fine musicians who came out: Mary Fagan, Mike Sullivan, Jimmy Schultz, Conrad Labrecque, Jordan Tirrell-Wysocki, Dusty Gray, Brian O’Riley and Matt Jenson. ALSO, a very special “thank you” to Brian O’Riley, who performed the “master of ceremony” duties, and to Michelle French-Labrecque, for working the door. In my opinion, we had the “perfect” blend of music, bringing together local Concord musicians, with musicians from the Austin, TX, and Burlington, VT music scenes. All feedback has been extremely positive, and a ”2nd Annual X-Mas Jamboree @ the Grange” has already been discussed. Merry Christmas, happy holidays, and see you next year! – Matt

X-MAS JAMBOREE @ the GRANGE – PERFORMER BIOS:
MARY FAGAN (Austin, TX): A restless heart and devotion to music has made Mary Fagan a true original with wide ranging influences. Backing herself solidly on piano or guitar, she moves seamlessly from jazz to folk, blues and rock. With influences that range from Duke Ellington to The Grateful Dead, you can’t fit her neatly into any one musical category. But no matter what style of music she is playing, her voice will captivate you. It is bold and smooth, as if it were forged in the blues and then dipped in velvet. www.maryfagan.com
MATTHEW POIRIER (Concord, NH): A Concord, NH area acoustic performer, focusing on percussive rhythms and intricate finger styles, with a completely original style and sound all his own. The shows move through a variety of styles with ever-changing and flowing set lists… Combining originals, traditionals and creative takes on a variety of covers, Matt pulls influence from a wide spectrum of artists and eras, and at times is heavily influenced by The Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Martin Sexton; plus a variety of traditional and old/new acoustic music. www.mattpoirier.com
MICHAELSULLIVAN (Burlington, VT): Virtuosic acoustic and electric guitar player hailing out of Burlington, VT. Mike’s playing has been described as soulful, captivating and down right epic. Mike’s music career has brought him all over the country, from New England to Arizona, to Michigan and back again. A true spirit of the unknown, Mike’s ability to amaze an audience in the form of a well traveled “gypsy-like” folk artist is equally as compelling as his ability to melt one’s mind with his melodic escapades on an electric guitar. AKA: Midnight Jones
DUSTY GRAY (Bow, NH): Dusty Gray is the hottest country music star to emerge from the mountains and serene country setting of New Hampshire in over 25 years. His on-stage energy is electrifying audiences throughout New England and the Northeast. Describing his performances, Dusty says he is “leaving a little bit of myself on stage each and every night.” www.dustygray.com
CONRAD LABRECQUE (Concord, NH): The man, the myth, the legend…. Host of some of the areas most diverse gatherings, Conrad has been entertaining local crowds for years. Co-Founder of “The Warner Road Experience” and numerous other local acts over the years, Conrad brings a joy of “everything that is music” to the stage night after night. Whether he be rambling on a full kit with TWRE, or playing the congas and bongos in an acoustic outfit in a downtown club, Conrad is at home playing music.
JIMMY SCHULTZ (Burlington, VT): Hailing out of Burlington, VT, Jimmy Schultz is a true student of “everything” percussion. Give Jimmy a cardboard box and a stick and you will instantly have music. Another well traveled musician of the road, it seems Jimmy has picked up a little something every place he has been. Free spirited and “down for whatever” Jimmy easily becomes the backbone and heart of any sort of musical endeavor. Taking inspiration from life, and combining it with raw musical talent, Jimmy is sure to captivate any audience he is in front of. AKA: Jimmy Jones
